opening the closet,
i lament
what colors, how many layers
my raiment
backing up, two steps
green or baby blue birdy
backing up one more
clean or dirty
choices to be made
so difficult at this hour
the floor my hanger
blossoms like a fabric flower
I pick something
trampled under foot
a few stains come along
and a small smudge of soot
judged outwardly
but focused inside
building not a wardrobe
but what its designed to hide
raiment \RAY-ment\, noun:
